Sparkler Hack

I have seen sparkers popped into the ends of carrots or in potatoes, but I like to pop them in a plastic or paper cup. this way the little hands are protected.

Eat your Sparkler!

Breadsticks, melted chocolate and cake sprinkles = edible sparklers.

Find out our tips for making edible sparkers.

Diwali Ideas

Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is a significant festival celebrated by Hindus, Jains, Sikhs, and some Buddhists.

Firework Art Projects

Scratch Art

I love scratch art - and here I show you how to make your own scratch paper. This is a fun activity to spread out over a couple of days.

Salt Fireworks

This is such a fun and simple science experiment that meets art for kids.

You can use it to build on colour mixing. - a great use for all those medication syringes!

Tube Printing

Start collecting kitchen paper rolls for this fun printing project. They are better as they are longer and you can use both ends.

We used neon paint, but glitter would be a fun addition too!

Pipecleaner Printing

Another great and inexpensive way to print fireworks is with pipe cleaners or chenille sicks.

They look so effective and we used metallic paint and plack paper.

Fabulous Food

Perfect Parkin

Every Bonfire night I would look forward to my Aunty Christine's traditional Yorkshire Parkin. You need to bake it at least a week before and let it stand!

I tend to make a big pot of Chilli and pop Jacket potatoes in the slow cooker, so we can all tuck in at any time. Easy, warming and filling food.

The Best Chilli

This chilli is brilliant with the jackets.

Jacket Potatoes

Yes, you can cook them in the slow cooker!
