Kindness & Care: November’s Cozy Days and Heartfelt Ways

November Newsletter

Finding Light in the Darkness

I don't think I have made it a secret that I suffer from Depression and Seasonal Affective Disorder and I have to work hard in these darker months to find the lights.

One way I do this is to focus on spending November preparing for the festive season. I like to do as much as I can so that nothing gets dropped if I get down. I also go on a quilting retreat every November (make sure you follow me on instagram to see more) and spending that quality time with creatives who enjoy quilting as much as I do fills my soul and therefore my jug, which enables me to pour into everyone else.

I have been trying to send you these Newsletters with activities earlier so you can plan them, so have already talked about Guy Falkes, Diwali and Remembrance Day (just click the links and it will take you to the previous newsletters), however, our friends across the Pond also celebrate Thanksgiving, and we also have Random Acts of Kindness Day on the 4th November.

So this newsletter is going to be short and sweet, but be prepared for a bumper Advent Newsletter in a week or so and then an amazing Christmas One. So between now and the new year there will be one newsletter a week.

If you like my content or have downloaded a free printable, please buy me a tea or donate to allow me to continue offering accessible human-made content.

Homemade Gifts

Why not start on this year's Christmas gifts? Instead of buying everything, why not have a go at making something? I am a big fan of homemade gifts. I enjoy making them, and I hope people enjoy receiving them.

Thankful and Kind

Let's all be thankful....

November Activities

Kindness Jar

The idea is that each of them is kind to each other and when we notice the act of kindness we put a heart into the jar.

We used this kindness jar of hearts as a sibling project, but it is also a fabulous class or whole family project.

Time to Make that Christmas Pudding

Stir-up Sunday falls on the last Sunday before Advent, so this year 24th of November. When families traditionally gather to mix and steam the Christmas pudding. I have been making Christmas Puddings using this recipe since before the boys were born!

Reverse Advent

We have been doing a reverse Advent for years and years, but instead of doing it during December, I now do it over November and drop it at the food bank earlier. Find out what is great to add here and more.

Get Ahead - Advent & Christmas

November starts with a BANG and our brilliant and fun fireworks crafts. So geat ahead.
